Entrepreneur's self assessment questionnaire

Entrepreneur's self assessment questionnaire

This questionnaire will offer some indication of whether you are the type of person that should consider an own business. It is not to say that a positive outcome is a recipe for success, but rather an indication of whether you are at least showing entrepreneurial characteristics.

This is your own test and needs to be conducted with 100% honesty to ensure the result is accurate.

Rate each question from 1 – 4, with a rating 1 = you disagree strongly with the statement, 2 = disagree to some extent, 3 = you agree to some extent and 4= you agree strongly with the statement. You will note that some answer have a positive and some negative scores. Add the scores (positives less negatives), to get to a final answer.

Final score

 Your score:

Total of more than 15

You indicate an appetite for risk, a characteristic closely associated with entrepreneurs. You are prepared to work hard, sacrifice your personal life style and are success driven. Those with a score of more than 30 are typical entrepreneurs and should consider moving into an own business. You are probably innovative and creative, can identify a business opportunity passing by and is prepared to go the extra mile.

Total score of -15 to +15

You show sign of entrepreneurship, but it seems you may still have some reservations whether you should go into an own business, or whether you have the characteristics of a typical entrepreneur. You still need time before you make that big decision. You may enjoy the security offered of a permanent job (job security), operating in an environment of structure and rules. You may not be ready to break away and run your own business.

Total score of -15 or more

The comfort of employment and having a steady income per month without the worry where the money comes from seems important to you. Your personal life is a priority and prefers to have less pressure on your free time. You may not be too creative and a business opportunity will pass without notice. You may be able to handle stress, but not to the extent that an own business demands. I prefer an environment of structures, procedures and some rules to guide my daily life. It seems a stable work condition is your preference and an own business is not the short term answer.
